BlindSquare GPS For iPhone, Old Hat App Review

Posted in Apple Inc

Do you sometimes just want to take a walk by yourself to clear your head? Maybe you are craving ice cream and you need to know how to get there? There are several GPS apps out now and
this one is a winner!

BlindSquare is a GPS solution for your iPhone. It works in collaboration with FourSquare to gather information and track your position.

You can search in categories such as restaurants, hospitals, retail stores, and much more. It is even possible to call your desired destination from the app. BlindSquare will tell you how close and the name of the nearest intersection plus what establishments are nearby if you choose.

It is possible to create routes to your favorite places and it will also announce when your favorite places are close to you. If you are on a bus, car, or train, it will orient you as you go so you know when your destination is near.

BlindSquare is an extensive app and is very accessible with a little practice.

Our Review

BlindSquare has freed me up to take more adventures on my own. I harness up my guide dog and we just go walking with no destination in mind. I have customized the settings so I hear only what I want to hear. I found that it talked to much for my taste. There is a learning curve and it is best to practice and play around with it while on a leisurely walk in familiar territory. I became so entranced with it that I would stand on the corner of my street looking a little crazy. My neighbor came out to rescue me though I didn’t need it.

I have not tested many other GPS systems myself but BlindSquare is really exactly what I need. It has recently been updated and it is better than ever.

I highly recommend it.
