Follow Friday: #FF with @TapTapSee and @CamFind

Here we are again, another Friday morning on the Delivering Access blog, and of course that means we’re eager to share this week’s #FollowFriday pick with you.

Ready to find out who we are sharing with you this week? Since its release in October 2012, TapTapSee has received 19,000 downloads, and processes hundreds of thousands of images on a daily basis. TapTapSee (along with sister app, CamFind) has brought the ability to assist everyone in the blindness community in identifying various types of items and products that they would otherwise not be able to identify.

Personal Note: I’m an avid user of TapTapSee, and I was completely excited when I took my first picture earlier this year with this very simple to use app, (and to my surprise, it correctly identified my Mickey Mouse shaped telephone).

Please join me as I interview Dmitriy Konopatskiy with TapTapSee, and we learn a bit more about the application, the release of CamFind and why you should be getting all of their tweets over on Twitter.

Follow Friday: #FF with Laura Legendary of @Accessible_Info

Welcome, once again, to Follow Friday (or as frequent Twitter followers call it—#FF). The weekly #FF trend highlights interesting “tweeters” worth following,, and since it’s one of the Fedora team’s goals to share noteworthy people and brands within the blindness community, we felt it necessary to jump in feet first on the weekly Follow Friday craze. Each Friday, we’ll profile another Twitter user through the Follow Friday series on the Delivering Access blog.

Who are we showcasing this Friday? For this week’s profile, I’ve picked Laura Legendary from Accessible Insights. What’s this? You haven’t heard of Laura and Accessible Insights? Well, get that cup of coffee or tea, sit back and read about whom she is and what her organization has to offer.

#FollowFriday: American Foundation for the Blind (@AFB1921)

There’s a trend happening each Friday on Twitter—and it’s called Follow Friday (or #FF to frequent “tweeters”). Since we love to share cool people and brands serving the blindness community (and we happen to have a pretty happening Twitter feed of our own), we want to bring this phenomenon to the Delivering Access blog each Friday.

As I thought about who we’d feature on our first #FollowFriday post, I couldn’t think of anyone else besides the American Foundation for the Blind (tweeting as @AFB1921), whose tweets are powered by savvy media guy and social media manager, John Mackin. Take a second to go beyond the 140 character limit with us as I talk with John about AFB’s tweets and his involvement with the social media account.
