Posted in Apple Inc, and Mac

Have you ever needed to add a new e-mail account to your Mail program on your Mac? If so, below are the steps to follow to create or remove one:

Creating An Email Account On The Mac

1. Go to the Doc by pressing VO(Control+Option) and D and use the right arrow key until you get to Mail and then press Enter to open it.
2. If you are opening Mail for the first time, a “Welcome to Mail” dialogue box or window will appear and walk you through the steps of setting up your e-mail account for the first time.
If you already have Mail setup and you want to add a new account, then go to the menu bar by pressing VO(Control+Option) M and you will hear “Menu Bar” and then you can use your right arrow key to go to “File” and then use your down arrow key until you get to “Add New Account” and then press Enter.
3. You will now hear VoiceOver say “New Account Window” and ask you to type in all of your account information.
Use the Tab key or VO(Control+Option) and right and left arrow keys to navigate the dialogue box to hear all of the options. You should hear “Full Name” “User Name or e-mail address” “Password” and then “Continue ” button.
When you get to the “Continue” button, press VO(Control+Option) and space bar to activate the button.
4. The next screen will ask you for your incoming and out going server names if you have to setup your account manually but if you have a GMail account Mail will do this automatically for you and all you will need to do is activate the “Continue” button.
5. On the last screen, Voice Over will read all of your information and you can read it by using the Tab key or by using your VO(Control+Option) and right arrow.
When you are done hearing all the information, go to the “Create” button and activate it by pressing VO(Voice Over) and space bar.
6. You have now successfully created an e-mail account in Mail on your Mac.
