For Immediate Release: Blind Entrepreneur Creates Netflix For The Blind
June 18, 2014
The majority of the blind and visually impaired enjoy watching television or a good movie with family and friends; however, enjoying such entertainment can be difficult when you cannot see the visual cues of what you are viewing.
Fortunately, with the availability of audio description the blind are able to watch content by providing audio cues throughout the story line. There is just one issue at hand and that is the fact that navigating the silent onscreen menus is impossible for the blind to use.
Stepping up to the plate to try to solve this type of inaccessibility is Kevin Shaw, founder of Zagga Entertainment. Mr. Shaw’s Netflix for the blind conception would mean that the blind consumer would be able to stream audio described content with accessible navigational features for a small, monthly based subscription fee.
Kevin Shaw’s dedication to provide accessibility to the blindness community is why Fedora Outlier, LLC has invited him to be a guest on their popular #AccessChat. This interactive Twitter chat will take place on Tuesday evening, June 24, 2014 at 8:00 PM Eastern in which Kevin will be answering questions from participants and providing more information about himself and Zagga Entertainment, so mark your calendar and plan to attend.
